Overview
Victoria Falls, on the Zambezi River and shared with Zambia on the opposite bank, is one of the world's great natural wonders, a curtain of water more than a kilometre wide dropping into a narrow gorge; the Zimbabwe side gives the widest views of the falls themselves.
Hwange National Park, in the country's west, is Zimbabwe's largest reserve and known for its elephant herds, which gather at pumped waterholes through the dry months. Mana Pools National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the Zambezi's floodplain, is one of the few parks in Africa where walking and canoe safaris are routinely on offer alongside game drives.

Best time to visit
April through October is the dry season and the best time for game viewing; the falls carry the most water from February to May and are at their driest-looking around October and November.
Getting there
Victoria Falls International Airport serves the falls directly; Hwange and Mana Pools are reached by light aircraft or road transfer from there or from Harare.

We don't guide inside Zimbabwe ourselves, and we don't publish a fixed Zimbabwe itinerary the way we do for Kenya: no set trips exist yet for this country, so we build each one individually rather than invent a day-by-day plan that isn't real. What we do is put the trip together end to end, flights in and out, the right lodges and camps for your budget and interests, road or light-aircraft transfers between them, and a private guide on the ground who knows that particular park well.
